Gift for Krampus

krampus was an old forest deity. he was part of the local pagan religion. a religion that was wiped out by christianity. the only places the creature survived was deep in the mountains. with small villages. there the church had little power because of the rough terrain. but that didn't stop the saints from telling their tales and condemn those who believed in krampus and his fellow pagan beings. then one saint found away around the issue. if they couldn't kill the "devil" then they would chain him and make it a servant of the church. and so saint nicolas tricked the beast and chained him up. humiliated and subjugated by christianity.
if there is any time of year krampus would hate. it is christmas. and he would break out of his chains, even if it is only for one night, and unleash his righteous anger upon those who deserve it most.
if krampus were to be offered a gift you better not tell him it is in the name of christmas spirit. because then you would only put salt on the wound.
